Adam Crystal is a composer and musician with a versatile and accomplished track record. His work spans scoring films, documentaries, commercials, fashion videos, art installations, and contemporary dance pieces. Based in NYC, Adam studied classical music at the Crowden School of Music, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Syracuse University (Music Business) and the Royal Conservatory in Prague CZ. Classically trained in violin, he has also performed on piano and keyboards for various bands including, Fischerspooner, My Chemical Romance, Dopo Yume, The Citizens Band, Jena Melone, Vanessa Mae, among many others. His original music compositions have underscored films, ads, and video pieces for The New York Times, Nike, PBS, Nowness.com, Diane Von Furstenberg, Costume National, as well as many other online publications (where his work contributed to creating unique branded identities and experiences). His most recent score for the documentary film Give Up Tomorrow premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2011. In addition, Adam was recently awarded several music commissions to compose for dance which include choreographers Brian Brooks (premiered at the Joyce Theater in June 2011), Larry Keigwin (premiere at the Guggenheim Works and Process in October 2011) and The Royal Ballet of New Zealand (to premiere in February2012). |
