Over the course of her twelve-year career, Sarah McColgan has developed a portfolio that blurs the lines between diverse cultures, genres, and industries. McColgan has produced award winning work in the worlds of commercial, beauty, high fashion, celebrity, advertising and portrait photography. As a director she has received MTV VMA nominations for her work with Miguel and Kelly Rowland in both 2013 and 2014. A School of Visual Arts (SVA) graduate, McColgan began her career as an editorial photographer and her work has been published widely in magazines such as Marie Claire, Australian Vogue, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Interview, In Style, Redbook, Cosmopolitan Spain, Seventeen, Grazia UK, Nylon Japan, Complex and many others. Commercially, Sarah’s images have been used in campaigns for several products and brands including Maybelline, Nickelodeon, Cover Girl, NFL, Pepsi, Rocawear, L'Oreal and Pantene. She has worked with countless celebrities including, Heidi Klum, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Kelly Ripa, Sheryl Crow, Rick Ross, Ed Sheeran, Kesha, Kerry Washington, Macklemore, Mary J Blige and Bruce Springsteen. On the big screen McColgan has been a featured photographer on America’s Next top model and has appeared in three Cover Girl television commercials.
In addition to her commercial photography and directing, McColgan is also currently working on her first coffee table book project. The long term project is inspired by a desire to create art with no boundaries. Influenced by the works of great artists ranging from Picasso to Basquiat, this body of work will provide a view into McColgan’s life as a creator and purveyor of culture.
